Lion Presidents Elect Training

DGE Rocky organized a special treat for the Lions Presidents Elects training this year.  The incoming Presidents were whizzed off to Le Bac Guest House in Wellington where they learned all about what they had let themselves in for during the next fiscal year.

This included a wine tasting, a braai, Christmas cake tasting and oh yes, some training was actually done.  Well done to PDG Liz Houston and her team for the excellent training that was given, and a huge well done to the Lions Presidents Elects for their forthcoming year.

Incoming Officers Training 2018-2019

The Incoming Officers for the new Lionistic year have been elected and on Saturday, 12 May 2018 they found out what the year ahead entails for them!

A record of ninety Incoming Officers met at the Rondebosch Girls High School for training on their portfolios for 1st Vice/GLT, Treasurer, Secretary, Services/GST, Membership/GMT and Marketing & PR.

They first received an overview of all the Club Portfolios,  what the implementation of GAT entails and details of DGE Rocky’s goals for the future year.  Following this they attended the training for their individual portfolios.

Well done to PDG Liz Houston who convened the day with expert precision and to all attended.

Wishing all Club Office bearers a wonderful year ahead!

Training for New Trainers

Training for the up and coming new trainers for District 410A took place at the Lions Club of Paarl on Saturday, 07th April 2018.  Twenty seven enthusiastic Lions attended the training and enjoyed the new-look interactive training that took place.

Well done to PDG Liz Houston and Nadine Butler and the team for facilitating such an event which is much needed in the organisation.

Feedback regarding the course so very positive.  Lion Isabel Ormandy of the Lions Club of Milnerton was so overcome by the training she wrote:

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! I loved it I loved it! Just to add my sincere thanks ….. with the rest of the team ….. to Nadine and Liz for an incredible learning experience!

We were asked … no, we were commanded to have fun …. and we sure did enjoy and then some!

The day was jam-packed full of content with lots of interaction between the group … time passed quickly … a veritable A-Z of presenting a presentation… shared with us by Nadine and Liz … who presented the presentation with professionalism and aplomb .. and all the adjectives in-between!  In fact, I’m rather sorry that we don’t have a second episode tomorrow!

I have to make mention of the incredible fellowship and camaraderie .. the likes of which I have never experienced before! I’ve been banging on about it all week!  It must have something to do with the fact that Lionism attracts folk of like ilk … and I’m sure the others will agree we just can’t wait to meet up again .. perhaps even presenting at each others’ Clubs!

Can’t wait until the next Workshop!

The New Trainers are pictured above and we wish them well with their newly acquired training skills for the future.
