Cape Town- help is on it’s way!
The Lions Club of Eden have launched a fundraising campaign in an effort to help drought-stricken Cape town with water supplies.
Rather than transporting bottles of water to Cape Town which can be a costly business, Lion President Carl van Blerk has requested monetary donations which will be used to make bulk purchases of bottled water from sources close to Cape Town that will not affect the water table or the municipal supply.
Distribution will be done by the individual clubs in Cape Town that already have a reliable distribution network in place.
Lions Clubs from other countries have already started making enquiries about how they can help and the Lions Club of Eden is currently sourcing corporate donations. The funds will be used to supply water, but also water-related equipment where there is a need.
DC for Childhood Cancer, Sandy Roman would like to challenge all Clubs to support International Childhood Cancer Day which falls on 15th February 2018.
To do so, special pins are available from CHOC can be purchased at R20.00 each. To order call Plumstead: 021 761 5304 or alternatively Tygerberg Lodge: 021 932 9427.
The Lion Club of Bergvliet have purchased 20 pins – can your Club better this?
