2nd Reminder: Lions Boys to Men Weekend

A reminder to all Clubs that the Boys to Men Weekend is fast approaching – February 16 – 18.

This year, a top Boys to Men leader from Canada is flying in to South Africa attend the weekend at his own cost.

There are already 12/13 boys committed to attend which leaves just 3 places, so please contact DC Charlie Flanagan as soon as possible should you have a suitable candidate.  Don’t miss out on being a part of this incredible project.  Part of the project is sponsored by District so the cost to the Clubs is just R1,000 per boy for the entire weekend – a small price to pay to transform the life of a young man in the community.

This year the following Clubs are participating: Tokai, Kirstenbosch, Merrimen, Newlands, Cape of Good Hope,Tableview, Gordon’s Bay and Wellington.  Your Club could sponsor too – so call DC Charlie now!

A celebration will be held to welcome the boys home at the end of the weekend. This will be held at the Lions Clubhouse of Tokai’s Clubhouse on Sunday 18th February 2018 at approximately 16h00.  Please invite parents of the boys, club members etc. to attend.

Second Reminder: My Woolworths Card

Just another reminder to ask  your family members, friends of Lions, friends  to support the Lions My Woolworths Card project which is being convened by GAL Paula Lang.

If you remember Lions have been provisionally approved for the Woolworths My School, My Village, My Planet card as a beneficiary.   However, in order for us to be fully approved, we need to sign up 50 (fifty) supporters!  So please:

If you are already a My School supporter please could you ask everyone they know to  change one of their three beneficiaries to Lions Clubs International District 410A? Once this has been done please send the document to Lion Sandy at the District Office.

If you do not have a My School card, complete the application form for a new card. Include Lions Clubs International District 410A as one of your three beneficiaries, complete your personal details, sign the application and forward to Lion Sandy at the District Office.

Remember we need 50 (fifty) My School supporters to qualify and to start reaping the benefits.  Once we have our 50 supporters and are fully approved we will be able to start our campaign to increase our supporters base.
