Mandela Day Project 2018

Friday, 13th July 2018 to Sunday, 15th July 2018 is going to be a busy time for Lions Clubs nationwide.

In District 410, thirty three stores will be manned by Clubs who have registered. They will be setting up stands outside the stores and will hand bags to customers as they enter stores in the hope that they will donate foodstuffs as they leave.

All the food collected will be sent to the Food Forward Depot in Century City where, on Mandela Day, 18th July 2018, it will counted, weighed, sorted and boxed for distribution to various beneficiaries in our District.

If your Club has not registered please help the cause by spreading the word on your Facebook pages and to your contacts to alert the public that this wonderful project is taking place which addresses our service framework pillar of Relieving the Hunger.

Blisters for Bread 2018

Save the Date!

The Blisters for Bread Charity family fun walk will celebrate its 60th event on Sunday 26 August 2018 so either don your walking gear and enter the walk or don your marshaling vest and assist Lions as we work together to make sure the walkers stick to the straight and narrow.

To enter tickets are available at www.psfa.org.za and cost R60.00 per entry. Remember every R60.00 feeds 20 children.

The walk, organized by the Peninsula School Feeding Association in conjunction with Lucky will start at 07h00 at Fritz Sonneberg Road, Green Point, Cape Town.

Lion Presidents Elect Training

DGE Rocky organized a special treat for the Lions Presidents Elects training this year.  The incoming Presidents were whizzed off to Le Bac Guest House in Wellington where they learned all about what they had let themselves in for during the next fiscal year.

This included a wine tasting, a braai, Christmas cake tasting and oh yes, some training was actually done.  Well done to PDG Liz Houston and her team for the excellent training that was given, and a huge well done to the Lions Presidents Elects for their forthcoming year.
